How do I book my Trial, where is it held and what prep is needed?

How to book your trial: To book your trial, I will contact you once your booking is confirmed with me. I book trials in 1-3 months prior to the wedding date. By this time you will most likely have your dress and any hair accessories/veil which you can bring to the trial. Having a trial too soon can also mean that you hair length and colour changes between the time from having your trial, and up to the wedding day and may differ the overall appearance of the hairstyle. However, if you feel more comfortable doing a trial sooner or later I can accommodate this. Please note I don't carry out trials any sooner than 6 months ahead of the wedding date due to being so busy with the current seasons weddings and trails. I hope you understand. Where are trials held: Trials are held at my home studio based in Aylesbury, Buckinghamshire. How to prep for your trial: - Bring hair and/or makeup inspiration photos to your appointment, Pinterest is a good platform to get ideas. If you’re torn between a few looks, don’t worry! I will help you finalise a look that fits your wedding style during your appointment. - Try to wear a white or light coloured top to resemble your wedding dress. - On the day arrive with a fresh clean face and freshly washed and dried hair from the day/night before. - If you have accessories/a veil, please bring this with you so we can place it in the hair and see how it works with the chosen style.

Can I try different hair and makeup looks at the Trial?

Your hair and makeup trial is for one look, please choose your favourite pictures for your appointment. If you cannot decide bring a couple and we will have a look at what you like and dislike of each picture to create a bespoke look for you. I am happy to make some small adjustments, however, if it requires a hair or makeup restyle after the first look a second hair and/or makeup trial charge will be added to cover the cost of extra materials and my time used to accommodate this. Please note I may not have availability on the day to carry ut extra styling as I may have other appointments booked in, this may result in the additional trial being booked for another date.

What products do you use in your kit? (VEGAN & CRUELTY FREE BRANDS ALSO!)

I use only the highest quality professional products to create my go to romantic, soft glam bridal makeup look. I use a selection of CHANEL, Becca, Nars, YSL including CRUELTY-FREE and VEGAN BRANDS such as Charlotte Tilbury, Laura Mercier, Hourglass, The Ordinary, BareMinerals and Smashbox.

Do you have hair accessories for me to try at the Trial?

Yes! I am an ambassador for MakeMeBridal who I have worked with for years. They have a stunning collection which I have in my studio for you to try during your hair trial. How long should I allow for the Trial and on the Wedding Day?

TRIALS - 1.5hours max for hair or makeup. 2.5 hours max for hair & makeup. All trials include a 15 minute mini consultation to discuss hair thickness and length as well as your skin type and any allergies or skin concerns you may have. We will look at pictures of what you would like to achieve in your trial and discuss what is achievable and how the style will look based on your hair length, thickness and texture. NOTE: Please specify if you have very long and/or thick hair so that I can allow some additional time to your trial if needed. ON THE DAY - 1 hour for hair or makeup. 2 hours for hair and makeup. These times are less than those at the trial as we know what look your are going for and will be able to recreate it quicker. I will send you a itinerary for the wedding day outlining when I will arrive and timings to carry out everyones hair and makeup applications. If your bridesmaids know what hair/makeup stye they would like please feel free to send image reference through to me beforehand.

How do I book you for my Wedding?

Please fill out my contact form and I get in touch to provide a quote. If you are happy with my quote and would like to proceed with booking me, a 25% non-refundable, but transferable, booking fee deposit is taken at the time of booking. This is to secure your date with me and to hold it in my diary and turn down all other enquiries/bookings for that date. The deposit also covers the cost of your trial and payment to book any assistants for your date. Once the deposit is paid your date is secured. If you require an assistant on your date and its itemised on the invoice, I will secure them for your booking once your booking is confirmed. The remaining balance is due in full 4 weeks before the wedding date via bank transfer (Payment details are on all quotations and invoices). Payment of the deposit confirms acceptance of my T&C's. PLEASE NOTE: Should your wedding be affected by covid your non-refundable deposit is fully transferable to a new date. Please get in touch with me ASAP to liaise a new date and check my availability.

I think I will need hair extensions. What extensions do you recommend?

I highly recommend clip-in hair extensions if you would like to add length or thickness to your hair. I will be able to apply these and style them to suit the hairstyle you would like. If you already have permanent extensions fitted I can style and work with these also. I recommend Foxylocks Extensions and BeautyWorks Extensions. Both are good quality and affordable and brands that I have used for over 6 years. You can have a look at their website and get a free shade match ahead of your wedding.

Can I make changes to my booking once I have confirmed?

Once you've placed a deposit, services cannot be removed. If you are unsure please exclude them out of the quote. Additional services may be added at a later date but booked services cannot be removed. Changes to Trial and wedding days Notification should be given of any changes to the booking and trial as soon as possible. This includes changes to the number of clients, location, dates and times. It is the client’s responsibility to do this as Emma cannot guarantee availability all day.

Changes must be confirmed in writing via email and are not accepted as written notice until you have received a reply from your artist.​
Changes to trials - An alternative date will be found. Trials will not be booked in evenings due to the lack of natural light and artificial light distorting the look. Trials are booked Monday - Thursday between 9.00am-7.00pm in summer/autumn months and 10.00am-4.00pm in the winter/spring months. Any changes made by the bride to a trial must be made in writing 48 hours before the date of the trial. If changes result in the number attending being reduced, artists have the right to change the time or date of the trial and any previous booking discounts or travel discounts will be void.

​Change of wedding date - We will do our best to rebook for the new date or supply another available artist. If this is not possible then the usual cancellation fees apply. Please note if you require a second trial you will need to pay the full trial amount again.​
Change to number of clients - A new price will be calculated based on our current price list to reflect any changes in the bridal party, any discounts or special offers will no longer be valid. If a wedding or part of booking is cancelled within 8 weeks of the wedding date, the deposit is non refundable and non transferable due to cancelling completely at short notice.

Please note: Any discounts will only apply at the time of booking and will not be applied to any changes made after this time.​

Change of location - Further travel may be charged if the location changes. ​

What happens if I want to postpone my wedding due to COVID-19?

All deposits are fully transferable to a new wedding date if you would like to postpone your date due to uncertainty of the current circumstances. Please get in touch asap allowing plenty of notice to confirm you are postponing so I can amend my diary and try to fill the date. Any discounts will only apply at the time you made your booking and will not be applied to any changes made after this time. If additional services are added at a later date they will be charged at my current prices and may differ to the prices your were given at the time of your booking due to inflation If your wedding is affected by COVID and you don't have an alternative date, a credit note for the deposit amount will be issued which you can use towards the new date. The deposit is only non-refundable should you cancel your booking completely.
